Hi, I am Lucy and I am the author of the blog BlondeWriteMore.

I mainly blog about my creative life and the writing process. I also review books.

Here are some writer posts which you might find interesting.

Here are 10 things about me:

  1. By day I work in an office and by night I am a writer and a blogger.
  2. I am an English wife to a rugby mad Welshman, so international rugby season is always an interesting marital time.
  3. I am a mother to two teenage daughters and a pet owner (3 cats and 1 dog).
  4. When I was a student at university I wrote my mother a letter every week and in some letters I even included stick people drawings. Rather than scare my mother witless on what I was getting up to, whilst being a student, I decided to write about the funny side to university life. My mother says these letters made her cry with laughter and always brightened up her breakfast. I have since read these letters and can’t believe I covered topics like student first dates, culinary disasters, student bodily issues and conversations from the local pie shop. She says she always knew I would be a comedy writer.
  5. One wet and grey Saturday afternoon in 2014 my loved one, kids and pets were all doing my head in, so I crept upstairs and started BlondeWriteMore.
  6. In 2015 and 2016 my blog was voted, ‘Funniest Blog’ by the online community for the Annual Bloggers Bash Awards, held in London.
  7. In 2016 I became a Featured Romance author on Wattpad after being approached by one of the Wattpad team. My chicklit comedy, The Diary of Roxy Collins, has now received over 250k reads.
  8. I am busy writing my debut novel, which is going to be a romcom.
  9. I am a member of the UKRomCom team and every Monday evening between 8-9pm talk romance with my fellow co-hosts on Twitter.
  10. I have obtained a place on the 2019 RNA New Writers Scheme.

I hope you enjoy my little blonde corner of the world wide web.

  2. Hi Lucy,

I’d like to extend a hearty Congratulations for your well-deserved Funniest Blogger award!! I just saw the announcement on another blog (Rosie Amber) and had to run over here immediately!! Thank you for the smiles and laughs – something we all need in this crazy world. Some days more than others. You rock Lucy.

      1. You did? How exciting! Thanks!! I’ll look for the video.
I know the list is long for your author interviews, but if you find a space open, let me know. 😊 No pressure and no rush, of course.

  3. I wanted to leave a comment on the Author Interviews page, but they’re apparently closed… anyhow, if you’d like to interview me AND/OR be interviewed by me, drop me a line – we can swap interview questions! πŸ™‚
Happy writing, fellow Virgo pantser! πŸ˜€

  4. Hey Lucy! Glad I found your blog. I’ve seen many posts both hilarious and extremely useful in the very first time I’m reading it. Can’t wait to read more.

    Happy writing! πŸ™‚ x

  5. Dear Lucy, you’re a serious natural blonde! The puppy looks like you a bit. You must be kindred spirits! I wish you good luck & inspiration!

    Best regards,

  6. This is so true! I know that songwriters often write a song and then see what the title presents itself to be, so I guess it makes sense with books too. I didn’t have a title for my book for a while, but I heard a song on the radio and it just fitted with my story. I must admit, I imagined that my book had been made into a film (we all do it!) and this song in particular felt like the end credits song, so I was lucky that I ended up with a name, but that took ages to happen.
