Exciting times on my blog. Every Saturday going forward I am offering authors the chance to be interviewed by me (sigh!) and appear on my blog.
The interview will be published on my blog as well as being tweeted, pinned and posted on social media.
I am also going to create a page on my blog and provide links to all the interviews that I do over time.
This blog series will hopefully be of interest to others, share some best practices and my ultimate goal is that a snippet of advice / insight shared in one of the interviews makes a difference to someone out there.
Here are the reasons why I am doing this:
- I am an aspiring author and I want to learn from others.
- I struggle with motivation and procrastination so I am interested to see how other writers handle these issues.
- I am always looking to widen my reading list.
- I suffer from doom and gloom writing days and I am curious to know how other writers work through these.
- I want to know what motivates authors to write their book. Is it a childhood dream? Is it an idea that has not gone away? Is it the prospect of future fame and glory? Sigh!
- I am really interested in what typical writing days look like for other authors.
- I have done a couple of posts on looking like a writer and what writers wear so I am looking to gain some author fashion insight from it.
- I am hoping doing a feature like this will help others.
- I am hoping this feature inspires me. I am currently languishing in the Writer’s Block part of town. Words are not my friends at the moment.
- I am hoping this blog gives some authors and their work some more exposure. It all helps!
- Saturday mornings are great for coffee and blog post reading.
- I am hoping it will grow my network of writers.
- I have always wanted to interview people.
- I saw the photo of the red chair and old wall on Photopin and knew I had to come up with a regular feature with it included.
- I want my blog to help others as so many people have helped me.
Next Saturday – I am hoping to go live with my first author interview. Eeeek! Fingers crossed some poor soul agrees to sit in my virtual red chair before then – sigh!
If any of you authors want to be interviewed please get in touch.
Have a fantastic day!

What a great idea! I would love to be interviewed by you.
Yes!!!! Great to have you on board! Will add you to my list! I will be in touch :-)
Hi Lucy,
What a response! It’s awesome. I know I’m delayed in responding but you know I would love to join your Saturday interview blog. What a wonderful idea. Thanks so much!!
Not sure if/when you have any more space but count me in if you do!!
Your name is on my list Kimberly! There is no escape now :-)
😀
I know it is often perceived negatively, even while not meant that way, still:
My hint for authors is check if that effort is welcomed by your customers NOT just by fellow authors. Until you can or want to afford a chat with all the friendly, and oft well-educated and insightful, fellow authors that is the crucial point. So many authors work tirelessly, but on stuff nearly-no customer aka reader ever stumbles across…
Good advice – happy Sunday!
:-)
Count me in. I would love to participate…and reciprocate.
Yes!!!! Fab! You are on my list!
Thanks.
What a fantastic idea. 😍 Can’t wait to see what others have to say. Would love to someday be an interviewee. You’ll know when I’ve reached ‘author’ status! 💖
I was thinking that very question (whilst ironing earlier) – ‘will Lemon Shark make my red seat?’ and then I thought ‘will she do it before me?’ – gasp – iron put down.
I hope you do. Then I’ll be along shortly after. 🐠 And I’ll want to sit in the red seat!
Nice idea! This should be interesting! :)
I would love to join in. I find when I do interviews I discover something I didn’t know about myself and I really enjoy meeting more writers.
Hey – thx will add you to my list and I will be in touch :-)
Reblogged this on Kim's Author Support Blog.
Thank you :-)
You’re welcome!
Sounds very cool. I’d love to interview with you! You seem like a kind soul.
– JM
Hey – love to add you to my list. I will be in touch :-))
Awesome. Look forward to it!
Hi BlondeWriteMore! So excited to see who turns up for the author interviews. I started a monthly aspiring author series this year — January hosted Sacha Black and February featured C.S. Wilde — and I learned so much in the process! This month, I made an exception for a new author who recently published her debut novel, and what an experience. I look forward to reading your upcoming interviews and maybe one day sitting in the red couch myself!
Hey – I am Lucy BTW!! I have a huge list so am going to work through them. I am mainly focusing on motivation and drive as that is what makes people successful chasing their dreams. I just wish I had the motivation to get my literary butt moving :-) currently got a stinking cold so maybe that has something to do with it!
Hi Lucy! You too!? I’m home today struggling with my own cold. (Third time this year!) Great that you have a huge list. It’s definitely helpful if you’re holding a weekly interview. I should probably send you my list of questions, aspiring author that you are and slate you in one of the coming months… Let me know what you think, okay?
Happy to do that! Fire away! My email is [email protected] :-)
Aloha–It took me a minute, but I finally got around to sending you my questions. Looking forward to your responses! (Oh–and fabulous line-up you have going here so far!)
Hey – got your answers – thx! Will let you know when you are on !
Please count me in, Lucy! Would love to be interviewed for your blog. I’d also like to reciprocate in some way and have an idea … please contact me when you have the time so we may discuss.
Sweet! I owe our lovely Sally one, but I’d be happy to participate in the future. Things do get easier after the first 3 months, right? RIGHT??
Would love to have you sat in my virtual chair – was secretly hoping you would offer – was going to make loud virtual noises around you / cough loudly and send you anonymous links if you didn’t say you would…sigh!
Lol – no need for all that. With my history of oversharing, I was kinda worried you’d pretend not to notice my comment :D
You are on my list so no escape now!
Lol – challenge accepted. Do your worst :D
Sounds great! Count me in for an interview!
Fab! Will add you to my list :-)
Sounds great! I’m looking forward to learning about new authors. It appears you already have quite the list to work through, but I’d be happy to be interviewed as well :)
Fab idea, BBFF! I’d love to be interviewed by you. Later this year I’ll be closer to publishing, so maybe then?
Sure! I will add you to the list :-)
Yay! Thank you :)

Sounds like a good idea. I’ll look out for the first one later on when I take a look at today’s blog posts. :)
Will watch out for you popping your virtual head around my virtual door! 😉
Awesome idea and would love to contribute!
Sounds like a great idea Lucy! I have just started featuring books, reviews and creative businesses on my blog, but i’m new to blogging and am still finding my way. I would be happy to be included on your list for interviews, but realise it is probably already quite full! I will look forward to reading your posts.
Hey! Thx for dropping by! I will definitely add you to my list! Happy Tuesday
Thanks! You too. Have a great week.
